Body Spray & Deodorant

Both come out of a spray — one is meant to be seen, the other not to be noticed.

This page covers two separate jobs. The shimmer body spray leaves a pearly finish on legs and décolletage — it’s the one for nights out and special occasions. The aluminum-free deodorant is for every day: travel-size 75 ml, in five different scents. What they share is the format; where and when you use them are completely different.

Which one is for you?

They sit on the same shelf, but they don’t meet the same need. One is about how you look, the other about how you feel.

I want my legs and décolletage to glowShimmer Body Spray$23.95 · 27 reviews · 4.8 ★The mica-based pearly formula spreads evenly without streaks or patchiness. It’s sweat- and humidity-resistant, so it lasts all night. There are two shades: Golden Pearl suits skin with golden undertones, Sparkling Ivory flatters lighter, cooler skin. Not recommended for use on the face.

How to use

With both products, the result depends on how you apply them. For the shimmer spray it’s distance; for the deodorant it’s timing.

Shimmer spray: shake it

Shake the bottle to activate the formula. The pearl particles settle at the bottom; spray without shaking and it won’t spread evenly, leaving a blotchy look.

From 15–20 cm away

Spray directly onto legs, arms or décolletage. For more control, spray it into your hand first and massage it in — on the décolletage especially, this looks more natural.

Let it dry before getting dressed

Getting dressed before it dries leaves marks on fabric. Once dry, it isn’t affected by sweat or humidity; the wait is the only real requirement. Wash your hands after applying.

Deodorant: on clean, dry skin

Apply after your shower, once your underarms are completely dry. Deodorant sprayed on wet skin can’t hold. After shaving or waxing, waiting while the skin is sensitive prevents a burning feeling.

At the end of the day, you can remove the shimmer spray by gently rubbing with soap, water and a washcloth; a makeup remover works too.

What’s in the formula?

Mica

Mica (CI 77019)

The mineral that gives the shimmer spray its pearly effect. It reflects light to give skin a smooth, luminous finish.

Titanium Dioxide

CI 77891

The pigment that carries the white-pearl tone. Together with mica, it determines the intensity and color of the shimmer.

Iron Oxides

CI (Iron Oxides)

The warm undertone of the Golden Pearl shade comes from here; Sparkling Ivory uses less, which is why it looks cooler.

No aluminum salts

Aluminium-free

The deodorant’s standout feature. Instead of aluminum compounds that block sweat glands, the formula focuses on odor control.

Fragrance composition

Parfum · Limonene · Coumarin · Geraniol

The ingredients that make up the shimmer spray’s scent. They’re listed separately on the label because allergen labeling requires it; they’re part of the fragrance.

Full ingredient lists are on the product pages under Ingredients.

The four most common mistakes

Using shimmer spray on your face

The manufacturer doesn’t recommend it. The formula is designed for body skin; the pore structure on the face is different, and pearl particles can make pores look more visible there. If you want glow for your face, highlighter is the right shelf.

Spraying without shaking

The pearl settles at the bottom. In an unshaken bottle, the first sprays come out watery and the later ones too concentrated; the result looks blotchy. Two seconds of shaking solves all of it.

Getting dressed before it dries

Shimmer that transfers to fabric both marks your clothes and disrupts the even finish on your skin. Once dry, the spray isn’t affected by sweat or humidity — but it needs a few minutes to dry.

Applying deodorant to wet or irritated skin

Deodorant applied to damp skin right after a shower won’t hold. After shaving or waxing, skin is sensitive; applying without waiting causes a burning feeling. The best timing: once your skin is completely dry.

Frequently asked questions

Does aluminum-free deodorant stop sweating?

No — that’s not what it’s for. Aluminum salts reduce sweating by temporarily narrowing the sweat gland ducts; aluminum-free formulas target odor instead. You’ll still sweat — if you’re after odor control, it’s a good fit, but if you want to reduce how much you sweat, you’ll need a different product category.

Does shimmer body spray transfer onto clothes?

Not once it’s dry. The product is sweat- and humidity-resistant and leaves an even film. Transfer almost always comes from getting dressed before it has dried; waiting a few minutes is enough.

Which pearl shade suits me?

Golden Pearl looks more natural on skin with golden undertones and skin that tans. Sparkling Ivory works better on lighter skin with cool undertones and with silver jewelry. If you’re not sure, check the inside of your wrist: if your veins look greenish, you’re warm-toned; if they look bluish, you’re cool-toned.

How do you remove shimmer spray?

Gently rub it off with soap, water and a washcloth. If it seems stubborn, an oil-based or micellar makeup remover dissolves it quickly. Just showering without rubbing can leave some of the shimmer on your skin.

Can I take the 75 ml deodorant in my carry-on?

Yes. The carry-on liquid limit is 100 ml per container, and 75 ml is under that limit. Just follow the clear-bag rule.

Can deodorant and body spray be used together?

Yes, on different areas. Deodorant goes on your underarms; the shimmer spray on your legs, arms and décolletage. There’s no need to layer them on the same area; neither does the other’s job.

Can I use it during pregnancy or on sensitive skin?

During pregnancy, while breastfeeding, or if you have a known skin sensitivity, the right approach is to patch-test on a small area and wait 24 hours. If in doubt, show the ingredient list to your doctor.

Types of Body Spray & the Best Shimmer Body Spray Picks

Body sprays, a finishing touch for your makeup look, are cosmetic products that give skin a soft sheen, glow, and freshness. Shimmer body sprays are especially popular for highlighting a sun-kissed tan in the summer, adding a natural glow to your skin for special occasions, and bringing your whole makeup look together.

What Is Body Spray and What Does It Do?

Part of the makeup category, body sprays are products used to give skin a healthy glow and make your makeup look more vibrant. Usually formulated with shimmering pigments, moisturizing ingredients, and bronzing effects, these sprays add an extra touch to body makeup.

What Are the Benefits of Body Sprays?

  • Creates a glowing look: Gives skin a healthy, luminous, radiant finish.
  • Enhances a bronzed look: Lightly tinted, finely shimmering formulas make a tan look more defined.
  • Creates a photogenic effect: Adds a light-reflecting sheen to the skin for professional makeup and photo shoots.
  • Makes a statement on special occasions: Especially well suited to evening events and summer vacations.

What Are the Most Popular Types of Body Spray?

There are different types of body spray depending on their shimmer, color, and moisturizing properties. Here are the most popular ones:

1. Shimmer Body Sprays

These sprays add shimmering pigments to the skin and create a radiant, eye-catching effect, especially on the shoulders, collarbones, and legs. They're an ideal choice for adding extra glow to a summer tan.

2. Bronzing Body Sprays

With their lightly tinted formulas, these sprays give skin an instant warm, bronzed tone and are a great fit if you want a tan without the sun. They're especially popular in summer makeup looks.

3. Moisturizing Body Sprays

Combining skincare with makeup, these sprays aim to add moisture while adding radiance. They're especially well suited to dry skin.

4. Light-Reflecting Highlighter Body Sprays

These sprays give skin a strobing makeup effect; used on the collarbones, shoulders, and legs, they reflect light beautifully for a highlighted look.

5. Glitter Body Sprays for Nights Out

Used for a more noticeable, eye-catching glitter effect, these sprays are the finishing touch for evening makeup looks. They create a striking shine at clubs and special events.

How to Use a Highlighting Shimmer Body Spray

To learn exactly how to use body sprays and get the most out of them, follow the steps below.

  • Apply to clean, hydrated skin: Spraying after you apply moisturizer helps the glow look more natural.
  • Focus on the right areas: It works best on areas that reflect light most, like the shoulders, collarbones, legs, and arms.
  • Apply in layers: Start with a light layer and build up the intensity as needed.
  • Blend with a soft sponge: For a more natural look, lightly blend after spraying with a sponge or brush.
  • Add extra where you want more glow: Concentrating the spray on the décolletage, cheekbones, and fronts of the legs helps you catch the light even better.

What to Look for When Choosing a Body Spray

Here are a few key things to keep in mind when choosing a body spray:

Shimmer Intensity:

  • If you want a natural glow, go for finely pigmented products;
  • For a bolder effect, choose sprays with more intense shimmer.

Moisturizing Ingredients:

  • To avoid drying out your skin, formulas with moisturizing ingredients are a better choice.

Matching Your Skin Tone:

  • For fair skin, champagne and silver shimmer;
  • For medium and deep skin tones, gold and bronze shimmer will be more flattering.

Wear Time and Blendability:

  • Long-lasting products that don't leave a sticky feel keep you comfortable all day.

What Affects Body Spray Prices?

Body spray prices vary for a number of reasons, from the moisturizing ingredients in the formula to how long it lasts. The micro-pigments in a body spray can drive the price up, while nourishing sprays with moisturizing ingredients set the price compared with body sprays made with standard ingredients. Ultimately, how long the body spray you buy lasts throughout the day is a key factor in its price.
